Area 15 Dance Studio is a family-oriented studio located in the heart of Tallahassee, Florida. We are dedicated to cultivating a space where dancers of all ages and skill levels can explore the performing arts in an uplifting and empowering environment. Whether students are stepping into their very first dance class or refining their skills at an advanced level, our mission is to ignite passion, instill discipline, and inspire growth through the transformative power of dance.
At the helm of Area 15 is a dynamic leadership team committed to excellence, mentorship, and community.
Gregory Deal, Founder and Artistic Director, brings a powerful blend of artistry and experience to the studio. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, Gregory began his dance journey at age 14 under the instruction of Kaarlo and Pirrko Lawlor and Ricci Keown at the Ballet Conservatory Dance Center. He continued his training at Tutterow Dance Academy, where he immersed himself in contemporary and commercial jazz under industry-renowned choreographers like Debbie Kennedy, Jaimie Goodwin, and Gail Horton. His professional credits include performing in opening numbers for NBC’s World of Dance Tour and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance on Tour, as well as a featured role in the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker national tour. A celebrated competitive dancer, Gregory has garnered numerous national accolades, including being named a Showtime Dance Challenge National Titleholder and a finalist at The Dance Awards. Today, he channels his love for movement and performance into building confident, versatile dancers at Area 15, where his leadership fosters both technical excellence and authentic expression.
Jenn Powell, Co-Owner and CEO, is a visionary creative and seasoned entrepreneur who has spent nearly two decades leading in the arts and mentorship space. A nationally awarded photographer and branding expert, Jenn is known for her ability to cultivate confidence and identity through storytelling—whether behind the lens or inside the studio.
She brings over 12 years of mentorship, youth programming, and nonprofit leadership to Area 15, and her mission to empower young dancers is deeply rooted in her belief in the ripple effect of mentorship. At Area 15, Jenn is the driving force behind studio operations, branding, and community partnerships. Her leadership ensures that every dancer feels seen and supported—on stage and off. She is passionate about creating a studio culture that values grit and grace, where dancers are challenged artistically while also growing as kind, strong, and purpose-driven individuals.
Together, Gregory and Jenn have assembled a powerhouse team of instructors and choreographers from across the country—each bringing their own unique expertise and passion. From ballet to hip-hop, jazz to acro, and everything in between, our instructors are not only accomplished artists but dedicated mentors. They foster a culture of encouragement, creativity, and high standards—preparing students not just for the stage, but for life.
